Cafe Meetup 3/9: Workshop for meetup ideas

This week we’re running a workshop for meetup topic ideas. Unlike our previous brainstorming session, this one is focused on topics that YOU could run during the Saturday meetup. Something from your professional experience, a hobby interest, or something that piqued your fancy. Anything that you think could interest the group and that you’d want to be in the driver’s seat for is fair game.

Bring three topics you’d be interested in facilitating. We’ll spend the session exploring different ways to present your topics—whether that’s a talk, group discussion, or something hands-on—and work through outlines for the best ideas.

  1. Introduction, meetup formats, and example topics
  2. Topic workshopping (in smaller groups, depending): Is it a good topic? What format would suit it best?
  3. Discuss the most interesting topic ideas
  4. Create outlines for the best topics (in smaller groups, depending)

The meetup is at Central Market, 4001 N. Lamar, in the cafe area. Look for the LW and SSC signs. People start arriving at 1:30 pm, and the main activity (such as it is) will begin at 2:30 pm. Please follow in-store signs and guidance.
