Cafe Meetup 10/21: Spooky Rationality! (Alert: Infohazards!)

As an annual Halloween tradition, our group likes to discuss our favorite “spooky” parts of rationality — the things you’ve learned in this area that scare you. To repeat the whirlwind tour of examples:

• Moloch, the problem you can’t help but contribute to!
• Abandon all hope ye who fail to sign up for cryonics
• Utility for the Utility Monster! Felicity for the Optimal Throne!
• Are there some truths man was not meant to know?
• The existential battle between Bayesians and Barbarians.

The meetup is at Central Market, 4001 N. Lamar, in the cafe area. Look for the LW and SSC signs. People start arriving at 1:30 pm, and the main activity (such as it is) will begin at 2:30 pm.
